OpenCall: DanSCe Dialogues 2 - Hampshire, Reino Unido

. . Sem comentários:
DanSCe Dialogues 2 are calling for interested artists who work in the field of dance to take part in the second IdeasLab, led by American choreographer, performer, writer, educator and speaker, Liz Lerman and dramaturg, Ruth Little.

The IdeasLab is one of a series of dance sector development activities to be offered over the next 2 years as part of DanSCe Dialogues 2 programme, an Interreg Iva-Manche funded French/UK dance axis and exchange of practices.

Deadline for application: 7 March 2014

Focusing on choreographic and compositional process, performance and philosophies, this week questions how dance can be made and what it might communicate to someone watching it. Using Lerman’s tools for creative research and Critical Response Process, participants will gain a deeper understanding and create a toolkit for defining their creative processes and products, as well as looking at verbal and written methods of articulating about dance. Liz will be joined by dramaturg, Ruth Little, and Jane Watson, Feldenkrais practitioner throughout the week.

Details of the programme:

In this laboratory, up to 12 participants will work with Liz Lerman intensively over a week to generate and harvest artistic tools that can be applied to a wide range of creative contexts. Lerman’s Critical Response Process(CRP) will be introduced and employed; this feedback system is based on the principle that the best possible outcome from a response session is for the maker to WANT to continue refining his or her processes and outcomes.

Participants will work with excerpts of creative projects previously developed as well as content and ideas discovered during the laboratory itself.

This week will be punctuated with additional opportunities to engage with the UK/FR dance sector in the following ways:

• time to network with FR/UK artists,
• time to reflect and gain intelligent, constructive feedback on artistic ideas and collaborative processes
• evening sessions designed to increase the level of reflection and understanding of dance work
